Why Naked Dog Café?
Everywhere they went on their journey, Darko, their dog, often attracted the curiosity of Mexicans, because he bears a striking resemblance to an iconic Mexican breed: the xoloitzcuintle. The Mexican hairless dog was used in Aztec and Maya funerary rites as a guide for the deceased to the world of the dead. This dark, warm-skinned dog embodies for them everything that moves them about Mexico.
The name Naked Dog is therefore an affectionate nod to this traveling companion and to the country that changed their lives.

The finca Los Cascabeles de Mauricio Giron perpetuates a tradition of excellence with passion and expertise. This 10-hectare family plantation produces about 5 tonnes of a unique coffee each year.

The Arabica coffee trees of the finca Cascabeles in Chiapas
